That said, all participating properties are offered on Maison Mer at no extra charge. What’s more, we offer options for a variety of budgets, depending on the time of year and the size of your group. Do the accommodations belong to Maison Mer?
Each accommodation offered is owned by an independent owner. Maison Mer acts as a showcase for these owners, but there is no official or legal affiliation between Maison Mer and the accommodations offered.
Are the properties suitable for families with children?
Yes, most properties are family-friendly, and some can also provide baby facilities on request. Please check with the owners via the form at the bottom of each accommodation page.
Do you have a quality guarantee?
Although we have no formal guarantee of quality, we only partner with owners who have an exemplary reputation, share our high standards and meticulously maintain their properties. Each owner is selected for his or her commitment to quality and service, to ensure a pleasant stay for our guests. What’s more, we ensure that quality is maintained by collecting satisfaction surveys at the end of each stay.
Can I trust your calendar?
All of our property calendars are dynamically updated in real time, so you’re always up to date when viewing a property’s availability calendar. It may happen that a stay option presented on Maison Mer does not match the length-of-stay policies of the owner’s site. If this happens, contact the owner or our concierge to find the best possible dates.
What do you mean by low, mid and high season?
The high season for tourism is the most popular summer months, July and August. The mid-season months are May and June, and September and October. The low season is from November to May.
Can I book online on your website?
All accommodations in the Maison Mer collection allow you to book online with credit card payment. When it’s time to book, you’ll be redirected to the accommodation owner’s secure website. We do not store any personal data or credit card numbers on our website. You can also make a booking request by filling in the booking form displayed at the bottom of each property. Once your request has been submitted, the owner will contact you. Finally, we offer a free service to help you plan your stay. Will I see Maison Mer on my credit card statement?
No, even if you found your accommodation through Maison Mer, each owner uses an independent reservation and secure payment system. We do not store any personal data or credit card numbers on our website.
What are your payment terms? Do you require a deposit?
Maison Mer member properties all accept payment by credit card, a criterion we demand in order to satisfy our customers. However, each owner has his or her own payment terms. Most require a deposit at the time of booking, with the balance payable at a later date, closer to your stay.
What are the cancellation policies?
As each accommodation is an independent property, each has its own cancellation policy. Please refer to them or contact the owner directly if you have any questions. Generally speaking, cancellation policies for accommodations in the Magdalen Islands are quite strict, as it is almost impossible to re-let accommodation at the last minute due to the island’s particularities.

What are the property rules?
Each property is unique and we ask you to treat it as if it were your own, with the utmost respect and care, and not to cause any abnormal wear and tear to the equipment or premises. No parties are permitted at any Maison Mer property. No illegal or inappropriate activities will be tolerated. Each owner also has his or her own code of conduct, which will be communicated to you after you have made your reservation.
